1. John, Luke, Matthew, and Mark – The Gospel, life and teachings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. These are the most important books in the Bible. The book of Luke is where Jesus is born
2. Matthew 6:9-13: The Lord’s Prayer (How to pray properly)
3. Romans – The main beliefs of Christians
4. Ephesians – Salvation by faith, not works. It explains God’s divine plan in full and our identity in Christ
5. Philippians – Christian life and experience
6. Proverbs & Ecclesiastes – The books of wisdom
7. 1 Corinthians & 2 Corinthians – Imperfection in churches and believers
8. Acts – Understanding how the Gospel began and spread. Also shows how the Gospel is meant to be shared and gives real-life examples of how the first Christians followed Jesus
9. Psalms – Book of songs, poems, and prayer
10. Revelation – The book of prophecy about the end of the world, what it will be like, and second coming of Jesus Christ
11. Hebrews – Explains why Jesus is greater than angels, Moses, and the priests from the Old Testament. Also explains the new relationship Christians have with God through Jesus
12. James – How Christians are supposed to act on a daily basis. Teaches how faith must show up in your actions (treating people fairly, helping the poor, etc.)
13. Galatians – The relationship between the Old Testament Law (before Jesus arrived) and the Church. Focuses on spiritual freedom
14. Exodus – History and Law (Old Testament, before Jesus arrived)
15. Daniel – Book of Prophecy (Old Testament, before Jesus arrived)
16. Genesis – Creation and the fall of man. Explains where everything came from, why the world is broken (sin), and God’s first promises to fix it
